Before you go abroad you will have the opportunity to attend a number of university co-ordinated pre-departure training and briefing sessions, in addition to anything that may be being offered by your school or placement provider.
These pre-departure sessions are for students going abroad in summer 2026, during semester 1 2026-27 or for the full academic year 2026-27.
If you have any questions about anything in relation to going abroad, visit our Global Guidance Ambassadors in the Atrium, 1st floor University Place, Monday-Friday 10:00-16:00 during term time.
N.B WHERE DUPLICATE SESSIONS ARE HELD, STUDENTS ARE ONLY REQUIRED TO ATTEND ONE OF EACH OF THE COMPULSORY SESSION DATES. ATTENDANCE WILL BE MONITORED!

Intercultural Awareness Workshop A 90-minute, interactive workshop to help you make the most out of your upcoming international placement and boost your employability. The workshop aims to help you more effectively communicate in a range of cultural settings and to start to develop key intercultural skills that are highly sought after by today’s employers.
