Whether you are looking to learn about a new place, add some more variety to your current studies, brush up on your language skills or simply see your subject from a new perspective, summer schools offer you a valuable opportunity to study abroad for a month.
There are opportunities to take courses at one of our summer schools, spanning language learning and a vast array of subject areas. For Summer 2026, we are offering programmes at summer schools in France, Denmark, Italy, South Korea, Spain and China. India is also under review as an additional Summer School option for Summer 2026, however please note that confirmation of the programme launch remains subject to the finalisation of contracts.
These summer schools run through the Placements and International Programmes Office and some bursary funding is available for suitably qualified students from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds, subject to the availability of funding.
Summer schools are open to any undergraduate student who is not in their final year, with a minimum 50% grade average (or 60% for Aarhus).
If you have any questions, please get in touch with us at goabroad@manchester.ac.uk.
We will be running an online Summer School Week from 9th - 13th February 2026 where you could find out more about summer schools and what you can get out of them. This will include guest talks from our summer school partners, hearing about past students' experiences, and more information about available funding. Students can find the link to recordings of these sessions on the Go Abroad YouTube Channel: Summer School Week 2026.
