Things to remember 

When you arrive at your destination:

• Confirm your safe arrival in your host country with your placement office
• Complete your Arrival Questionnaire within My Placement within the first 7 days of arriving
• Register at the University of Manchester and update the My Manchester student portal with your new contact details in your host country
• Register for FCO updates for your host country

During your time abroad:

• Contact us if you find yourself struggling with culture shock, homesickness or anything else!
• Complete the Wellbeing Questionnaire within My Placement at key points throughout your time abroad
• Always let your placement office know if you are contemplating changing your study/work/volunteer abroad plans, for further information please see this section of our website
• Remember that you are an Ambassador for The University of Manchester and your home country, so please act accordingly

At the end of your time abroad:

• Follow the end of placement reminders for the relevant overseas activity that you are taking part in
• Make sure that your insurance policy covers you for any further travel plans
• Fill in the Completion Questionnaire within My Placement within 7 days of departing
