Erasmus+

The Erasmus+ Programme is a European Commission scheme which provides grant funding for people to study and work in participating European countries, as part of their university degree. It was announced in December 2025 that the UK would reassociate to the Erasmus+ programme for the 2027/28 academic year. The University of Manchester received its Erasmus+ Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) in September 2026. The Charter allows the university to submit a bid to the European Commission for Erasmus+ funding, to support students undertaking an approved placement in Europe during the 2027/28 year. The outcome of our funding bid will likely be known in Summer 2027. We will then contact students who have an approved My Placement record, to inform them if their 2027-28 placement qualifies for Erasmus+ funding.
